I grew up in Boston and had a very loving and caring family. Coming from a family that struggled as any family goes through, my father left when I was 5 leaving mom to raise us by herself, which was not easy raising 5 children as a single mom, but by the time I was 6 my stepfather had stepped in and taken the role as Dad which he did very well, and all my siblings were able to go to college as he was a wealthy man. He passed away when I was 12 leaving me alone without a positive male role model and I found not so positive role models that drank and drugged because they had no positive role models in their lives.

I constantly got in trouble and ended up in Jail numerous times which led to county terms in jail which led to prison never taught me anything and made me worse. I believe my life of destruction and drugs and alcohol was a direct result of no positive male role model or directions for life. Over 5 years ago I made a decision to take my life back and came out to California to do just that, I was able to go through a treatment center get honest, get a sponsor and do some 12 step work that has changed my life in a new direction. I have worked in treatment since year two of my recovery and have reached goals I never thought I could reach, I have even been able to work in a state prison counseling inmates and teaching CBT which was beyond my realm of possibilities and achievements. I have worked at several treatment centers starting out as a Support staff moving up to Lead support staff and working my way to counselor. I have worked hard in the field and continue to set Goals to achieve like I’ve done since day one and will continue to do as long as I work hard and continue on my higher powers path set for me, I can and will achieve my Dreams.
